Nature, campfires and a forest playground

Between Cuxhaven and Stade lies Wingst, a picturesque sandy heathland and woodland landscape for both young and old explorers. Whether on foot, by bicycle or on horseback, the forest is ideal for adventurous trips. The 40,000 m2 area of the hostel directly borders the forest and offers a large playing field, playground, beach volleyball court, boccia court and barbecue area. Spend the evening in a relaxed atmosphere around the campfire. And children can discover their wild side as forest researchers.

Forest, campfires and "stick bread"

Wingst means nature! Go on a long walk or bike ride. Especially recommended are the hiking trails that connect all the sights together, such as Balksee lake, the "Deutscher Olymp" ("German Mount Olympus") observation tower, stone tombs from the Stone Age and the Jewish cemetery. One great place for families is the zoo in Wingst. Kangaroos, monkeys and the wolves and bears forests are just a 5-minute walk away from the hostel. And the forest museum and forest playground are popular local destinations. Spielpark Wingst, an adventure park, and its summer toboggan run and treetop trail will make children's eyes light up. And the North Sea is within easy reach - just 45 minutes away by car or train.
